Featured this week- Pickling Cucumbers from Carlson Farm

A lot of my friends think I’m a pretty avid gardener and it’s true. I grow a lot of food. Some of them, however, know the truth. There is only one reason I garden at all: Pickle anxiety. Would I live through the winter without a pantry full of freshly canned pickles. I hesitate to find out. Consequently, I was thrilled to find all the pickle ingredients available in this week’s market: Cucumbers, obviously. Baby dill, basil or mint. Biodynamic garlic. All you need from the grocery store is cider vinegar and salt. Make a batch and prepare yourself for the sad part of the year when we aren’t pulling cukes out of our gardens.
