Luna Bakery Bio: The Luna Bakery was conceptualized in October of 2008 after Joel Karinen visited a grass roots cooperative/grocery store in central Montana. This co-op understood the importance of fresh, wholesome baked goods and integrated their bakery into the co-op’s location and storefront. Joel’s mother was an active member in the co-op who help designed the kitchen/bakery and is now the head baker. Joel was inspired and realized how much we needed something like this in the Gunnison Valley. With his passion for baking and desire to give back to the community, Joel created The Luna Bakery to provide lean and healthy breads.

About our breads: We use Hard Red Spring Wheat flours, stone ground whole wheat, natural white flour, water, sea salt, yeast or sourdough starter and malt.
