LocalFarmsFirst.com

- a hub for local grub.

- a non-profit run by farmers.

LocalFarmsFirst.com is a non-profit group of forty small farms and artisan food producers located on the Western Slope of Colorado. Each grower farms his/her land using strict standards to ensure that everything produced meets the VOGA standard – chemical-free, with no synthetic inputs, and made with the most sustainable methods available.

We are an online farmer’s market for home, or bulk retail, school, or restaurant sales where you get to pick and choose the grocery items for your cart, with no set box, straight from the farmers you love. 100% of all proceeds go directly to the farmers.

Our History

The non-profit, LocalFarmsFirst.com, part of The SOS Foundation, was founded in 2009 through the combined efforts of local farmers with coordination and facilitation by Alison Gannett and Jason Trimm of Holy Terror Farm.

Membership Fees

To provide farm tours, educational programs, and to help us with our overhead costs, we ask that you pay an annual fee of $25 per account for one calendar year.

Ordering Options

Unlike other co-ops, buying clubs, or CSAs where everyone gets the same box of stuff (and you don’t know what you’re getting until you get it), with LocalFarmsFirst.com you get to order what you want, in the quantities that you want, from the farms that you want. Orders are placed from Thursday evenings until Sunday evenings each week. The orders are then fresh-harvested and delivered to Paonia, Gunnison and Crested Butte drop off points on Wednesdays each week, all year long.

There will be a 20% discount for local Paonia orders.

Are we Organic?

We proudly support the VOGA guiding principles: All of our farmers are working every day towards maintaining and improving the health of soil, air and water, and ensure the production of nutritious food free from synthetic inputs. See vogaco.org for more details.
